Four Phases – One Therapy
Phase 01 / Day 0
Initial Meeting, Check-In
Phase 1 can be handled completely digitally in the course of the Covid-19 restrictions. Saphenus accompanies you in this phase and supports you if further examinations are necessary.
You will receive a comprehensive picture of your pain situation and the timetable for the therapy using the Suralis sensory feedback system.
- Analysis of your prosthetic care

Phase 02 / Day 1 – 21
Pain Management – Surgical Procedure
In cooperation with AUVA, Brixsana Private Clinic, BG Klinik Tübingen
Pre Surgery
- Examination and indication for surgery (Prof. Dr. A. Gardetto)
- Gait analysis, quality of prosthetic care, walking performance
- Physiotherapy focused on pain and individual problems (joint mobility, muscle weakness)
Surgery
- In our Saphenus R&D Labs in South Tyrol (Italien), Austria and Germany in cooperation with AUVA, Brixsana Private Clinic, BG Klinik Tübingen
- Neuroma removal or selected nerve transfer in our R&D lab
Post Surgery
- Physiotherapy focused on assessing the operating principle/usage of the sensory feedback system, nerve stimulation
- Optional: “It’s going fine” coaching with a physiotherapist for intuitive use

Phase 03 / Day 21 – 42
Rehab Training Phase
- First experiences with Suralis, the sensory feedback system
- Compression therapy
- “It’s going fine”
- Take home training programme (optional video coaching)
- Prosthetic adjustments by an orthopedic technician (at home if requested)

Phase 04 / Day 42 – 63
Sensory Feedback Phase
At home or optionally at Sapehnus R&D lab.
- Appropriate supply and adjustments of Suralis
- Gait training “It’s going fine”
- Gait analysis, quality of the prosthetic care, walking performance
- Follow-up-care – Saphenus service
